Reflection log

Why is it important to reflect?

To get to the point where we think about what we can develop and do better, both on a personal and professional level, we must focus on what we do and focus on today.

  • What does the current situation look like?
  • What should we do more or less of?

When we start to reflect on our current situation, we will find our development opportunities and take responsibility for our development.

Regular reflection also enables us to discern patterns in our own behavior. A key in a change of behavior is that you create an awareness of what and how you act and carry out different tasks.

Write reflection

  • Go to the start page
  • Click on the sub-tab "Write reflection log"
  • Fill in the title and select the level of visibility (if the reflection is private, only you can see it.
  • If it is public, it is sent to your manager and can also be read by the manager's manager, etc.)
  • Write your reflection and choose keywords that fit how you feel
  • When you are done, click on "Save reflection log"
  • If you click on "Save draft", your reflection is saved as a cookie on the specific computer and browser you are on. To be able to download a draft, you must make sure that you are on the same computer and browser you were at the time you saved the draft.

If you have made the reflection "Public", your manager will receive an email that you have reflected and that it is time to give you feedback. When your manager has given you feedback, you will receive an email and a notification that you have received a comment on your reflection. If you use the Rolf app and have chosen to receive notifications, you will receive a notification in your phone stating that you have received a new event in Rolf. You can then read the comment in the app.

You can also mention your colleagues in your post by writing an @ sign and then choosing the name of the person you want to mention. When you do that and have chosen the visibility "Public" on your post, the person you mentioned will receive a notification that they have been mentioned. The person can then also read the post.

Tags

The tags are used as a simple way of creating a current status snapshot of how the organization is doing. Each word has an opposite word that is either positive or negative.

The words can also be used as a start and inspiration if you do not really know what to reflect on.

Reflection log and visibility

Visibility controls who should be able to read your reflection post.
You select the visibility level in the scroll bar.

  • "Private" means that only you who wrote can see the post.
  • "Public" means that your group leaders / managers can see the post. However, it is not shown to your colleagues.

You can use @name to bring colleagues attention to a specific post.
Note that if you tagged a colleague in the post with @, they can only read the post if it is public.

See your own "tags" in the web version

  • Go to the home page
  • Click on "write reflection log"
